The band Everclear was formed in 1992, in Portland, Oregon. The original members were Art Alexakis, on vocals and guitar. Criag Montoya, on bass and backup vocals, and Scott Cuthbert on drums. Art had found Craig and Scott by placing an ad, in a local newspaper, about the band. Together the three of them recorded a demo titled "World of Noise" for $400. Although the demo was intended to give the clubs so that the band could get gigs. It was later released as their debut album. During 1994, the group toured relentlessly, and soon after tge drummer, Scott Cuthbert, was kicked out of the band for violating the band's no drug policy. Cuthbert was later replaced by Greg Eklund, who first appears on the band's 1995 breakthrough album, Sparkle and fade. Santa Monica became one of the biggest modern rock songs of 1996, while other songs like "heroin-Girl" and "Heartspark Dollarsign" helped gain the band national fame. Two years later, Alexakis, Montoya,and Eklund released their latest, title "So Much For The Afterglow". | ||||||||||||||||
